When this code was added, in commit 1a20a3ce4, we had no validation
rules checking the presence of the start and end dates of a poll. Now we
do, so we don't have to check this condition in the view.
We were using a redundant `elsif` instead of an `else`. We were also
using a negative condition in the main `if`, which made the code a bit
harder to read.
Since we usually use `current_user` instead of `user_signed_in?`, we're
also changing that for consistency.Extract component to render the status of a poll
This is consistent with the way we've got partials to render debates,
proposals and legislation processes on their index pages.
Note that, while adding the tests for the status icon, we're keeping one
system test because it also tests the process of voting. We're adding a
new, similar component test, where the voter is created in the database,
so all possible statuses are tested in the component.
In Rails 6.1 and earlier, `button_to` generated a <button> tag when it
received the content as a block, but an <input> tag when receiving
the content as the first parameter.
That's why we were using blocks with `button_to` most of the time; for
starters, <button> tags accept pseudocontent and so are easier to style.
In Rails 7.0, `button_to` always generates a <button> tag [1], so we're
simplifying the code what uses `button_to`, passing the content as a
first parameter instead of passing it as a block.

The `use_helpers` method was added in ViewComponent 3.8.0, and it's
included by default in all components since version 3.11.0.
Note we sometimes delegated the `can?` method to the controller instead
of the helpers, for no particularly reason. We're unifying that code as
well.
Just like we're doing with other external links.
We already mention that it's an external video, so there's no need to
explicitly indicate it in the link.
We were displaying documents in five places, and in five different ways.
Sometimes with the metadata in parenthesis after the title, sometimes
with the metadata below the title, sometimes without metadata, sometimes
with an icon in front of the document, and sometimes with a separate
link to download the file.
So we're now displaying the same thing everywhere. Not sure whether this
is the best solution, but at least it's consistent.
We aren't unifying the way we display a list of documents, though, since
different sections look pretty different and I'm not sure whether the
same style would look well everywhere.
Note that we're renaming the `document` HTML class in the documents
table to `document-row` so the styles for the `document` class don't
apply here.
The `reload` method added to max_votes validation is needed because the
author gets here with some changes because of the around_action
`switch_locale`, which adds some changes to the current user record and
therefore, the lock method raises an exception when trying to lock it
requiring us to save or discard those record changes.
