This way we can move some system tests to component tests and stop
creating records after starting the browser with a `visit`.
We could also split the system test in two, but since these tests
aren't checking any user interactions, moving the to component tests we
check the same things while making the tests faster.
Since the partial was using an instance variable, we're passing it to
the component. We're naming it `voter_user` instead of `user` because
passing something named `user` could make us think that we're passing
the `current_user`. I wasn't sure about naming it `voter` because it's a
`User` record and not a `Poll::Voter` record, but naming it `voter`
would definitely be an option.
We removed the link to this page in commit 83e8d6035 because poll
questions don't really make sense without a poll.
However, this page also contained information about successful
proposals, which might be interesting so administrators don't have to
navigate to the public area in order to find and create questions based
on successful proposals.
So we're keeping the part about successful proposals and linking it from
the proposals part of the admin area.
Note we're using translation keys like `successful_proposals_tab`, which
don't make sense anymore, for the successful proposals. We're doing so
because we've already got translations for these keys and, if we renamed
them, we'd lose the existing translations and our translators would have
to add them again.
Also note we're changing one poll question test a little bit so we
create the question from a successful proposal using the new page. There
are other tests checking how to create a question from the
admin/proposals#show action and other tests checking what happens when
accessing a successful proposal in the admin section, so we don't lose
any test coverage by changing an existing test instead of adding a new
one.
Finally, note that we've removing the `search` method in poll question
because we no longer use it. This currently makes the
`author_visible_name` database column useless; we aren't removing it
right now because we don't want to risk a possible data loss in a patch
release (we're about to release version 2.3.1), but we might remove it
in the future.
We had inconsistent indentation in many places. Now we're fixing them
and adding a linter to our CI so we don't accidentally introduce
inconsistent indentations again.

Note that we set the z-index to 20 in order to will be greater than
the others z-index elements in the application like <header> on
mobile devices.
It looks like not all screen readers identify SVG images with empty aria
labels as a decorative image, as reported by the Axe accessibility
engine.
So we're using `aria-hidden` instead, since we don't want the text of
the SVG to be read by screen readers. We're using `aria-hidden` instead
of the `presentation` role for the reasons mentioned in commit
35659d441.
The default `date_select` used in fields presents an accessibility
issue, because in generates three select controls but only one label.
That means that there are two controls without a label.
So we're using a date field instead. This type is field is supported by
about 99% of the browsers, and we've already got JavaScript code
converting this field to a jQuery UI datepicker in case the browser
doesn't support date fields.
Note that, since we no longer need to parse the three date fields into
one, we can simplify the code in both the models and the tests.
Another slight improvement is that, previously, we couldn't restrict the
month and day controls in order to set the minimum date, so the maximum
selectable date was always the 31st of December of the year set by the
minimum age setting. As seen in the component test, now that we use only
one field, we can set a specific date as the maximum one.
We reduce code duplication thanks to that, and make it easier
to change this field.
Note that there was one place where the "16.years" value was
hardcoded. We're moving the test for this case to the
component and changing it so the test doesn't use the default
age.
We're also removing the redundant helper method that had the
same code as a method in the User class which is called
everywhere else.
The text for the unfeasible checkbox wasn't correctly defined as a
label, while the fields to search investments and select the heading
weren't intuitive since their purpose wasn't obvious.
The absence of labels in these controls made them hard to use,
particularly for people who use screen readers.
Note we're removing the "Choose language" prompt, since we always
automatically choose a language and not choosing a language doesn't
really make sense. The only scenario where the prompt was used took
place when all languages had been removed but, in that case, the "Choose
language" prompt was misleading because there were no languages to
choose from.
This way it'll be easier for people using screen readers to know which
link/button they're about to click.
Note that, at least for now, we aren't reusing the code en
`Admin::ActionComponent`. We might do so in the future if we implement
similar code in more parts of the public area.
We forgot to do so in commit f0ab7bcfc. We're still leaving one system
spec to test that these images are rendered when browsing the site.
We're also changing the existing component tests to check the `alt`
attribute, just like the remaining system test does.
We only want to render the account link and login items in the header.
And we want only render the Multitenancy and Administrators sections in
the admin sidebar.
We include the administrators management so it's possible to give
permissions to other users to manage tenants.
In order to restrict access to other sections by typing the URL or
following a link, we're only enabling the rest of the routes when we
aren't in the multitenancy management mode.
Using a checkbox wasn't very intuitive because checkboxes are
checked/unchecked when clicked on even if there's an error in the
request. Usually, when checkboxes appear on a form, they don't send any
information to the server unless we click a button to send the form.
So we're using a switch instead of a checkbox, like we did to
enable/disable phases in commit 46d8bc4f0.
Note that, since we've got two switches that match the default
`dom_id(record) .toggle-switch` selector, we need to find a way to
differentiate them. We're adding the `form_class` option for that.
Also note that we're now using a separate action and removing the
JavaScript in the `update` action which assumed that AJAX requests to
this action were always related to updating the `visible_to_valuators`
attribute.
Just like it happened with proposals, the button to select/deselect an
investment wasn't very intuitive; for example, it wasn't obvious that
pressing a button saying "selected" would deselect the investment.
So we're using a switch control, like we do to enable/disable features
since commit fabe97e50.
Note that we're making the text of the switch smaller than in other
places because the text in the investments table it is also smaller
(we're using `font-size: inherit` for that purpose). That made the
button look weird because we were using rems instead of ems for the
width of the button, so we're adjusting that as well.
Also note we're changing the width of the switch to `6em` instead of
`6.25em` (which would be 100px if 1em is 16px). We're doing so because
we used 100 for the minimum width because it's a round number, so
now we're using another round number.
This way we'll be able to simplify it a little bit.
Note that the original partial didn't include the whole row and only
the cells. Since, most of the time, we include the whole row in
partials, we're slightly modifying the component.
The button to select/deselect a proposal wasn't very intuitive; for
example, it wasn't obvious that pressing a button saying "selected"
would deselect the proposal.

Most existing Consul Democracy installations will have changed their
`config.i18n.available_locales` option so only a few locales are
available. In many cases, only one locale will be available. In these
cases, rendering a form that only offers one option is useless.
We've considered adding a text in this case mentioning that, in order to
enable more languages, they need to configure their
`config.i18n.available_locales`. However, we haven't done it for two
reasons.
First, if they've changed the available locales to just one, there's a
good chance they aren't interested at all in configuring the locales.
And, second, if there's only one available locale, administrators will
learn to ignore the "languages" link, so they won't realize that locales
can be configured if developers change the available locales. If we hide
the link, on the other hand, they will notice that locales can now be
configured once developers change the available locales.
Note we're still allowing access by entering the URL. This is harmless,
though, since people accessing it this way will see a form with only one
possible option and won't be able to modify anything.
Having a class named `Poll::Question::Answer` and another class named
`Poll::Answer` was so confusing that no developer working on the project
has ever been capable of remembering which is which for more than a few
seconds.
Furthermore, we're planning to add open answers to polls, and we might
add a reference from the `poll_answers` table to the
`poll_question_answers` table to property differentiate between open
answers and closed answers. Having yet another thing named answer would
be more than what our brains can handle (we know it because we did this
once in a prototype).
So we're renaming `Poll::Question::Answer` to `Poll::Question::Option`.
Hopefully that'll make it easier to remember. The name is also (more or
less) consistent with the `Legislation::QuestionOption` class, which is
similar.
We aren't changing the table or columns names for now in order to avoid
possible issues when upgrading (old code running with the new database
tables/columns after running the migrations but before deployment has
finished, for instance). We might do it in the future.
I've tried not to change the internationalization keys either so
existing translations would still be valid. However, since we have to
change the keys in `activerecord.yml` so methods like
`human_attribute_name` keep working, I'm also changing them in places
where similar keys were used (like `poll_question_answer` or
`poll/question/answer`).
Note that it isn't clear whether we should use `option` or
`question_option` in some cases. In order to keep things simple, we're
using `option` where we were using `answer` and `question_option` where
we were using `question_answer`.
Also note we're adding tests for the admin menu component, since at
first I forgot to change the `answers` reference there and all tests
passed.
This way we remove a bit of duplication.
These changes also affect the way geozones are rendered in a couple of
minor ways, making them more consistent:
* No empty list of geozones is rendered when there are no geozones
(before these changes, an empty list was rendered in the index action
but not in the show action)
* The text clarifying the geozone restriction is always shown (before
these changes, it was shown in the index action but not in the show
action)
We've added tests for these cases.
This is consistent with the way we've got partials to render debates,
proposals and legislation processes on their index pages.
Note that, while adding the tests for the status icon, we're keeping one
system test because it also tests the process of voting. We're adding a
new, similar component test, where the voter is created in the database,
so all possible statuses are tested in the component.
With this parameter, Vimeo no longer uses cookies that identifies users
browsing our site.
They do still store some cookies, though; quoting from Vimeo player
parameters overview:

Not sure whether this counts as essential cookies in our case; they're

When embedding a video in our site YouTube stores cookies in the user's
computer that aren't necessary to watch the video, so we'd have to make
people accept those cookies before letting them watch the video.
Using a URL that doesn't use cookies, like mentioned in YouTube Help
[1], is easier, though, and respects people's privacy without affecting
the user experience.
That I've found some references saying that youtube does store cookies
once you hit the "play" button even when using the nocookie server [2].
Not sure whether that's an old behavior or I'm doing something wrong,
but I don't see this is the case; even after playing the video, cookies
aren't stored on my browser.

Although most Consul Democracy installations will only have a few
available languages using `config.i18n.available_locales`, there's a
chance some installation will keep every language as available and will
enable the desired ones using the admin interface. In these cases,
enabling (or disabling) every language would be tedious, particularly
when casually experimenting in a staging environment or while using the
official Consul Democracy demo.
So we're adding buttons to simplify the process. Since some
installations might have only a couple of available languages, and in
this case these buttons would be pretty much useless, we're only showing
them when there are many languages available.
